This X4 microscope view was taken quickly after bringing the moss indoors. The leaf length is about 1.25mm.

This X8 view is of the underside of the moss. Attachment fibers are visible. The fibers are around 0.015 mm wide.

Wet moss image taken at 1:41 PM. A leaf measures 1 mm wide. Another leaf can be seen 1.8 mm long.

The same moss sample after 32 minutes is now much drier.

The sample has been allowed to dry for 110 minutes. Leaf width now seems to be around 0.5 mm, about half the wet width. The length of this branch has shrunk from around 4.2 mm to around 3.4 mm.
