This might be Tortula ruralis. It is a moss that I found on the brick wall along my driveway. This image was made by combining a number of images using focus stacking. Notice the white hairs. When this photo was made the moss was dry.
Prefers the grouted areas. Maybe there is more moisture there.
The hairs that are an extension of each leaf were moving as I took the photographs that made up the focus stack. The are probably sensitive to slight changes in humidity.
I rinsed and quickly dried this sample.
